Tonight’s camping was much easier than last night’s. Found a great little NM state campground well off the beaten path. I’m surprised I have halfway decent cell service. I’ll try for a few pictures in the morning. I’m running true to form for never getting in and settled before dark. And it is dark here. Milky Way fully visible.
White Sands was interesting. One of the activities is sledding down the dunes on a plastic saucer sled purchased from the gift shop. I suppose it could be fun, sledding in the summer, but it was difficult finding untrampled sand. I walked about three miles in various spots until the sun was too high, but didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked. Pretty sure I’ll have sand in those shoes forever.
My van is the white one right of center.
Tomorrow is driving across Arizona and stopping at interesting places on the way.
